Dr. Doug Hendrix, DVM
Dr. Doug R Hendrix was born and raised in Alief, Texas and worked for Dr. L.O. Harrell throughout his high school and college career. Dr. Hendrix graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997 and purchased Sugar Land Pet Hospital in 1999, from the Harrell family. Dr. Hendrix provides a variety of services for small animals, including internal medicine and surgery. At home Dr. Hendrix and his wife Bridget have two beautiful girls, Emily and Katie, who enjoy dancing, sports, and spending time with their spunky Boston terrier, named Cindy Lou Who. In his spare time, Dr. Hendrix loves woodworking, fishing, and following Aggie Football WHOOP!

Dr. David Brust, DVM
Dr. David M Brust, isn’t a native Texan, but he got here as soon as possible. In 2006 he joined the clinic to meet the growing needs of our hospital. Dr. Brust graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 and provides a variety of services for small animals and exotics. Dr. Brust is known for the research and care of Sugar Gliders; he is the President of The Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians and the author of several published articles, including the book Sugar Gliders: A Complete Veterinary Care Guide. Dr. Brust and his wife Ann have 3 grown sons, a daughter, and a very active grandson, and two beautiful granddaughters. Dr. Brust loves hunting, fishing, volunteering at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo every year, and participating with his World Champion Barbeque Cook Off team.

Dr. Erin Floyd, DVM
Dr. Erin Floyd grew up in Sugar Land, Texas and has been a part of the Sugar Land Pet Hospital family for the past 11 years. She started out as a kennel assistant in 2004, and over the next several years worked her worked her way up to veterinary assistant. Dr. Floyd graduated from Kempner High School in 2006, and graduated from Texas A&M with her Bachelor of Science degree in 2009. She went on to attend veterinary school at Texas A&M, and graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2013. Dr. Floyd rejoined the SLPH family as an associate veterinarian in June 2013. She has a particular interest in feline medicine, neurology, and endocrinology. Dr. Floyd and her newlywed husband live in Richmond, TX with their three dogs and four cats. She enjoys painting, reading, and yoga. Dr. Floyd attributes the fulfillment of her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian to the dedicated mentorship and guidance provided by Dr. Doug Hendrix, and is passionate about providing similar mentorship opportunities to students interested in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Desiree Parks, DVM
Dr. Parks was born near Chicago, Illinois and moved several times during her childhood, but eventually settled in Texas. Dr. Parks has always had a deep appreciation of nature and animals and wanted a career where she could help both people and animals. She completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology and her master’s degree in Microbiology from Texas Tech University. She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University where she earned her master’s in Public Health and her DVM in 2014. Her interests while in college were infectious disease, pathology, and internal medicine. Dr. Parks loves to spend time with her husband, their daughter Zoe, working in her garden, painting, and being with her four pups. Tesla, a Staffordshire Terrier mix, Leia a Border collie mix, and the two Shih-Tzus Chili Bean and Ozzy. She also has a cat named Sammy the Samuari who, like most cats, rules all the pups. Tesla has become the clinic mascot, coming to work with Dr. Parks almost every day. Tesla loves to interact with staff and clients alike. Dr. Parks hopes to get her certified as a therapy dog in the future.

Kathaleen Bailey, DVM
Dr. Kathaleen Bailey grew up in Arlington, Texas. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University in 2014 and returned for veterinary school in 2016. She graduated (virtually) May 6, 2020 and is excited to be officially apart of the Sugar Land Pet Hospital family. She has an interest in animal nutrition, dermatology, and surgery. Dr. Bailey has always known she wanted to be a veterinarian and has worked in the veterinary field since 2011. She has a cat named Tina, a Chihuahua named Pinky, and a Golden Retriever named Bailey (yes, he is fondly named Bailey Bailey). Dr. Bailey enjoys cooking and finding new local eateries, but the thing that brings her the most joy is coming to work and taking care of her patients!

Jackie, CVA IIHead Technician
Jackie has worked for Sugar Land Pet Hospital since 1988. She has received her CVA II certificate and is working towards her CVAIII. She has a special interest in canine and feline dentistry. Outside of the hospital she loves spending time with friends, family, and spending time at the barn raising sheep with her fiancé, Reese. Her pets are, Seth a pug mix, Ben the barn cat and Atlas the barn dog.

Joline, CVA IIHead Technician
We welcomed Joline to our team in 2009 as one of our smiling faces upfront. Her passion for veterinary medicine allowed her to study and complete the CVAII. When she is not at the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband Pablo and daughter Belle, traveling, car shows, watching true crime documentaries, and weekends by the pool. She has two dogs, Capone a boxer and Vito a pug mix.

Rebecca, LVT
Rebecca began working at Sugar Land Pet Hospital in 2004. She always knew she wanted to work with animals; she completed Associates of applied science in 2009 from Lone Star College and passed the national and state boards to be an LVT. In 2014 she completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College Florida. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, swimming bike riding, and spending time with husband Vincent and their two little humans McKenna and Charlotte. She has a pug mix named Harper Cakes and a bearded dragon named Norberta.

Kimberly, LVT
Kimberly became a Veterinary Technician in 1998 and has been working at Sugar Land Pet Hospital since 2006. She enjoys assisting our doctors in surgery but her true passion is studying the behavior of animals. Kimberly feels this is the best way to learn their language and to understand what animals are trying to tell us. She applies this to our patients in the hospital to help make interactions with them less stressful.On weekends, she enjoys riding horses with her daughter, snuggling up to watch movies with my family and reading almost anything she can get her hands on! Pets include Hannah a terrier mix, Slew a Quarter Horse, Chase a Thoroughbred, Petunia the Potbelly Pig and Dora the farm cat.

Kristy, LVT
Kristy has been working in the veterinary field since she was 16. She received her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Tomball College in 2003 and joined out team in 2011. She has special interest in ultrasound technology and dentistry. She is certified as an ultrasound technician and performs all our abdominal ultrasounds. Kristy especially enjoys working with our feline patients and is known around the hospital as the “cat whisper”. She and her husband Blake and their 3 children Westin, Travis and Connor enjoy spending their free time camping and biking. She has 5 spoiled cats named Retro, Sparrow, Leo, Pistachio and Kiki.

Cathy, CVA II
Cathy is the proud mother of three, Nicholas, Mara and Daniel. Her family is originally from Boston but moved to Texas in 2004. She has worked for SLPH since 2006. Cathy grew up dreaming of the opportunity to work with animals, so she has found her dream job. Her furry family includes Teddy Bear, Bella and Snow.

Cynthia is a recent graduate of Texas A&M and is hoping to get into Vet school. In the meantime she decided to work and gain experience here at SLPH. She is a native Houstonian but grew up here in Sugar Land. She enjoys reading, knitting and general craft activities. Cynthia’s fur baby is a Beagle named Brownie

Megan was born and raised in Houston, Tx. She is a recent graduate from University of Houston. Go Coogs! Is currently pursuing additional education at Lone Star College to receive her LVT. Her long term goal is to work with large exotics at a zoo, ideally with crocodilians. When she is not at the clinic or at school she enjoys playing piano, drawing, kickboxing and writing. She has a Rat Terrier named Oreo.

Ashley P.
Ashley was born and raised in Sugar Land. Although The Land of Sugar may be her zip code, she also calls Arizona and New Mexico home. She has worked at Sugar Land Pet Hospital since 2008. Ashley is an avid reader; she loves the fine arts, outdoor activities and travel. She has two wonderful dogs and one sassy feline. A Great Dane named Alice, Boxer mix named Odin, and a calico named Patches

Cristela C.Head Receptionist
Cristela is originally from Brownsville, Tx and moved to Houston on 1991. She joined the Sugar Land Pet Hospital in 2016. When she is not here at the clinic she enjoys spending time her family, Husband Jerry and Son Michael. Her hobbies include reading and being outside in her garden. She has quite the crew of canines and felines. Troy, Gambit, Krypto, Todd, Harley, Raven, Storm, Scarlett are her canines. Rogue and Ruby are her faithful felines.

Candice was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas. Her grandparents originally were the ones to start coming to Sugar Land Pet Hospital and soon her parent followed suit. She told Dr. Hendrix when she was 5 that she wanted to be a Veterinarian just like him. Soon after graduating from High School in 2012 she began working for Sugar Land Pet Hospital and has loved every minute of it since. Outside of work she loves spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, dancing and watching Aggie football. WHOOP! She is a lover of animals but beagles hold a very special place in her heart. She had a beagle herself named Tootsie Roll but they call her Tootie for short. She has also a Turkish Angora cat named Duchess.

Chelsey W.
She grew up in Northern Michigan, playing sports and riding horses. She went to college at the University of Minnesota for Animal Science and Equine Science. She moved to Houston in December of 2013 for work at the HSPCA and then found her way here to SLPH in May of 2014 as a technician assistant. She has currently taken the position of data entry, filling medications, and assisting technicians and doctors when needed. Her pets include Lucien, Rusty and Ziggy.
